The Experience Your Smokies (EYS) Tennessee program offers the residents of Tennessee the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and participate in hand-on, real-life resource management science projects presented by Park rangers and other experts. 

The EYS class topics include wild life management, fisheries, archaeology, exotic plants, air quality, historic preservation and native plants.  The topics are covered in five one-half day and one full-day sessions.

 

KEY Details

  • The program runs from July and ends with graduation in January.

  • Classes consist of approximately 25 participants.

  • The application period begins January 1st.

  • A small tuition fee is required and scholarships are available for the program.

  • Alumni events are held annually and opportunities exists for annual service projects
